April Delegates Council

April Delegates Council Meeting
Wednesday, April 14, 2010, 12pm at St. Peter in Chains Catherdral Synod Hall, 325 W 8th Street Downtown

Speaker: Milton Dohoney, Jr., City Manager, City of Cincinnati

Employment: Job Creation & Training and Homelessness/Affordable Housing are  MARCC Concerns for 2010.  Recently, City Manager Milton Dohoney outlined his administration areas of emphasis for 2010.  MARCC has invited the City Manager to have a conversation with MARCC Delegates about theses areas.  Delegates will have a chance to hear about some of the challenges and opportunities that the city is facing and why local government is making the kinds of decisions it perceives as needed at this time.  Mr. Dohoney’s presentation emphasizes themes that affect development, employment, housing, the Comprehensive Plan and transportation.  He raises the theme of “Inclusion” and asks the question on – how do we as a city institutionalize “Inclusion” in all areas that impact our quality of life?  Also, how does a city manager manage a changing city during a major recession?  These questions impact public policy and the quantity and quality of city services.  Given the current recession that most urban areas face today Delegates will have an opportunity to ask questions about why the city is doing what it is doing regarding a variety of issues some of which directly impact housing and employment.   We look forward to your participation.
